Southwest Chicken Wrap

Ready in just 25 minutes, this Southwest Chicken Wrap is packed with smoky, spicy chicken, creamy chipotle ranch dressing, crunchy vegetables, avocado, and melted cheese. It’s an easy, satisfying meal that works perfectly for lunch or a quick weeknight dinner.

This wrap brings together some of the best flavors and textures: smoky-seasoned chicken, creamy chipotle ranch, crisp vegetables, sweet corn, creamy avocado, and cheese. It’s also easy to customize, so you can adjust the fillings based on what you already have in your kitchen.

Ingredients & Substitutions

Chicken Tenders: Chicken tenders are ideal because they’re small, cook quickly, and fit nicely inside a tortilla. You can also slice a chicken breast into three long strips.

Southwest Spice Blend: This flavorful blend combines chili powder, chipotle powder, smoked paprika, cumin, garlic powder, and salt. It adds a smoky and mildly spicy flavor to the chicken. For a milder wrap, replace the chipotle powder with regular chili powder. Onion powder can also be used instead of garlic powder if needed.

Olive Oil: Olive oil helps coat the chicken and allows the seasoning to stick while adding flavor. Any neutral cooking oil or melted butter can be substituted.

Chipotle Ranch Dressing: This creamy homemade dressing combines sour cream, mayonnaise, canned chipotle peppers, ranch seasoning, and water. If you want to save time, use your favorite store-bought ranch, chipotle ranch, or chipotle mayo.

Corn: Frozen or canned corn both work well. If using canned corn, drain it before adding it to the wrap.

Cheese: Use your favorite cheese or blend. Mexican cheese blend, cheddar, Monterey Jack, and Pepper Jack are all delicious options. Pepper Jack is especially good if you want some extra heat.

How to Make Southwest Chicken Wrap

Step 1 | Make the Southwest Chicken

Add the olive oil and Southwest seasoning to a bowl and mix until combined. Place the chicken tenders on a baking sheet and pour the seasoned oil over them. Toss the chicken until every piece is evenly coated.

Bake the chicken for about 15–18 minutes, or until it is fully cooked and reaches a safe internal temperature. Let it rest briefly before slicing.

Step 2 | Make the Chipotle Ranch Dressing

Add the sour cream, mayonnaise, chipotle peppers, ranch seasoning, and water to a blender or food processor. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

Taste the dressing and adjust the seasoning or spice level if desired.

Step 3 | Assemble the Wrap

Place a tortilla flat on a clean surface. Add the sliced Southwest chicken, vegetables, corn, cheese, avocado, and a generous drizzle of chipotle ranch dressing.

Fold the sides of the tortilla inward, then roll it tightly to form the wrap. Slice it in half and serve immediately with extra chipotle ranch dressing on the side for dipping.

This Southwest Chicken Wrap is smoky, creamy, crunchy, and satisfying—and because the ingredients are so easy to customize, you can make it your own every time.
